Why Book with a Travel Agent?
Travel is an amazing opportunity to explore, to learn, to meet people and to rejuvenate. When we travel we have met new friends, learned about history and culture that has changed us in some many ways. While travel is enjoyable and enlightening it can also be stressful planning trips and you can have issues along the way. Travel is more complicated now than I have ever seen with flight issues, frequent changes to rules and many different choices to choose from. Its why now more than ever it is important to have someone who knows the travel landscape and has been to the places you want to go. Here are some of the reasons having a travel expert by your side is well worth it.
- Travel Agents are usually avid travelers themselves so they have experienced the ups and downs of traveling and know ways to traverse the issues and have a smoother experience. If you want to experience a new country or location in the US and you are not too sure about what to do, if its safe or how to book good experiences then a well traveled travel agent can be your partner for your experience. If things go wrong you have an extra helping hand to make sure your trip doesn’t stall out.
- Beyond the personal experience travel agents have, they have been trained about different locations, resorts, theme parks, cruises and so much more. My wife is constantly learning about different ways to travel and the companies that are great to work with. They also have a network of other travel experts they can talk to and get advice. Its very valuable to have them on your side with the more complicated landscape we find ourselves in.
- Travel Agents are in tune with sales and discounts for travel that you might not be aware of. They work to get you the best deal on the trip that they can get you and make sure your trip is secure through things such as travel insurance that is key.
- When you book with a travel agent outside of a large company you are helping small business and average people thrive. Today more than ever we need to work to help all small businesses as its the backbone of our country.
- One of the best reasons is many travel agent services are absolutely free to you! Many travel agents work on commission and the price of your travel experiences are possibly cheaper than if you book it yourself. The commission is already built in to many prices if you use travel agents or not so getting that extra help from a travel expert won’t cost you anything and will give you a great piece of mind that you have someone that has your back as your travel!
Our Experiences with Travel Agents
Over the years of travel we have used many travel agents to help us plan trips. This has especially been true from some of our largest and more complicated trips. They have helped give us advice around visas and getting the right trip planned. We have planned many a trip on our own but its always helpful to get an expert in areas I’m not familiar to give advice and book experiences for us. A great example is around Disney and Universal Studios. Our good friend Brittany Wells that specializes in theme parks and cruises has helped us plan great trips to Disney and Universal. We had no idea that Universal was running a special that if you buy two days of passes they were including three days of passes for free! Brittany knew about it and we went forward with such a good deal. We had a great time and with the extra time at the parks we could do take our time and have a more leisurely experience at the parks. We had the chance to ride all the rides and pick the ones we liked the most and ride them again over the several days. Without Brittany’s knowledge we would have booked a couple days of passes and lost out free time at a theme park. She also helped us get the best dinning passes and other perks that we might have had issues figuring out on our own. She knew it all in this space and she saved us money and time. She also checked in on us to make sure all was well on our trip. We have had other travel agents check on us right before a big trip to see if we need anything and check in afterwards to make sure all was well. We have had great experiences with travel agents and I know they will for you as well.
