One of our favorite countries we have visited is the somewhat hidden gem of Poland. It’s a country that has had many struggles throughout its history from occupations in WWII and the Cold War but has come back and has become a wonderful country and place to visit. The capital city of Warsaw was over 90% destroyed during WWII and they re-built the city including its old town from scratch. We have been to Poland twice and outside of the amazing places to see and culture their food is amazing. While in Poland we had Pierogis, sausage, soups, Polish doughnuts and so much more. We fell in love with the food there. We have found it hard in the Houston area to find great Polish food that tastes like we had in Poland. While working our travel booth at a Christmas Market in Pearland we found a great Polish Food business called The Polish Apron. They have a food truck, work at different events including a wedding venue and catering. You can get their fresh made Pierogis (a polish dumpling filled with different meats and vegetables) to save for an event or to eat at home

Our Experience

While I just tried their food today (December 8th), I guarantee we will get more of it in the future and probably some to take home for later. While at the Christmas event I watched this small business made up of Polish heritage owners using their family recipes making their food from scratch in front of me. We tried the Polish Potato Pancakes, Pierogis, Kielbasa, and Golabki (beef stuffed cabbage roll). It was all great and just like we remembered from our time in Poland. With the Polish Apron making their food fresh and from family recipes it is as authentic as you can get. So be sure to look out for their food truck and follow their account so you can travel to Poland without leaving the Houston Area!
