Stephen F. Austin-Munson Historical County Park

Located just off of Interstate 288 in Angleton, TX you will find a unique Brazoria county park. The park sits on some of the original land grant from that Stephen F. Austin procured from Mexico. The park includes a 76 foot tall statue of Stephen F. Austin and a nice museum that gives information about Austin’s colony and the beginning of the Texas revolution. Behind the museum is a large pond that is in the shape of the State of Texas. The Historical park has activities (pre-pandemic) that include guest speakers, re-enactments and historical days. Its a great park and spot that is unique in the Houston area. Give a a visit!

Donna and I got to ride in a cherry picker to see the top of the statue on a visit.
