Goodwoods British Market -The British Isles
810 South Friendswood Dr. #110

Donna and I love visiting the British Isles. The United Kingdom and Ireland are countries we have visited every year since before 2020 (with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic) either having a stay over or visiting to tour. We fly British Airways and Aer Lingus pretty often. There are so many great products we miss when we head back to the US. Cadbury is about my favorite chocolate in the world. In the UK they have so many different varieties of Cadbury like many filled with caramel that is one of my favorites. I’ve become a fan of the HP Sauce from the UK that is kind of like a steak sauce but can be used on anything. In the UK and Ireland they have some really good “crisps” aka chips in the US that I always bring home. At two locations in the Houston area you can get your British and Irish products at Goodwoods British Market. I recently visited the store in Friendswood and had a “Jolly Good Time” stocking up on our British favorites (or favourites for those from the UK).
Our Experiences
Goodwoods is in a nice shopping center and has some reserved parking spaces for customers. Its very easy to find with the classic red London Phone booth up front. Inside the staff are very friendly and helpful if you need anything particular. Walking through the aisles was like heading back to the UK and Ireland for just a little while. They have a great selection of British candies and chocolates and even some Cadbury that I have not seen in the UK. They have scones and a wide variety of meat common in the UK including Kippers (very popular in the UK but was not my favorite when I tried it on the Isle of Man). They have a large selection of British condiments that I haven’t seen elsewhere such as HP sauce that I got while there. They also of course have a large selection of teas and fine tea sets. If you are a fan of Marmite or have never tried this British specialty they have it there as well (I’ve had it and its not my cup of tea but its a cultural experience). They have a very wide selection of crisps (what they call potato chips in the British Isles) from the UK and Ireland. They have flavors that are different than us in some of the crisps that are really good. They have the brands of very fresh crisps from Ireland that I always bring home when we are there. Some of the Irish crisps I have had even have a tracking label where you can see where in Ireland the potatoes came from. There are plenty of souvenirs from the UK as well you can get. We found that Goodwoods is a great place to try new things from “across the pond” and take a mini-vacation for just a little while!
