Delores Fenwick Nature Center and John Hargrove Trails

Located on Magnolia Parkway in Pearland is a Nature area and park that is worth a nice visit in the Houston Area. The John Hargrove Environmental Center is an area that has a Recycling Center two lakes and over two miles of trails. It also has the nice Delores Fenwick Nature Center that is great for kids with activities and small local animals such as alligators and snakes. The two miles of walking trail around the ponds has ample greenspace for people to enjoy the outdoors. Most importantly its the home of many different species of birds. There are several small islands that are bird Rookeries (nesting sites) that especially in the evening is full of birds. We have seen large pelicans, many different species of ducks, Pink colored Spoonbills and so many others there. They have binocular stations to view the birds and many different way signs with maps and information about the natural habitats of the area. They have a small garden area and across the street they have an edible garden with fruit and other plants that you can pick if you would like. I often see bird watchers looking at the wildlife in this nice park area. Its also a great place for sunset pictures with the reflection on the water and the wildlife. Its a nice place to visit in the area for a couple of hours!
