Hello again! This is Donna and Jason here! I will occasionally send out some opportunities closer to home you might enjoy. As I say you don’t have to necessarily Travel far to have a great time and learn something new. I have a few experiences coming up to share! 2. If you have never been to a Candlelight Event at the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Field, they have great shows set in the setting of the hangers at the museum. We went to a Flamenco Concert that reminded us of our time in Barcelona, Spain. In October for Halloween they will be having: Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of…

    Vaccinations for International Travel

When traveling internationally you check into things like what flights to take, what is the weather like in the country when you are going, what kind of currency do they have and many other things. One thing people might forget is preparing for possible diseases and health issues you might encounter when traveling. When heading to a sunny tropical beach thinking about have I got the recommended shots is probably the last thing you are thinking about but it is something to consider. While most likely you will be just fine, but I always like to prepare just in case because getting sick while abroad is no fun and you…

When Travel Goes Wrong – Antigua 2023 and the State of Summer Travel

When you travel enough things are bound to go wrong from time to time. We have been stranded in New Mexico due to Hurricane Harvey for a week, we spent several days in Phoenix due to the winter freeze in Texas, we have had flights canceled around the country when we had to wait until the next day to make it home and most recently we were stranded for an extra night in The Isle of Man due to fog that covered the island canceling our flight. So we are used to things going wrong from time to time. It doesn’t make it any less stressful when you can’t make…

    The Isle of Man

Just recently we traveled to a brand new country for us and one that you do not hear a lot about except for the famous TT motorcycle race that occurs on the Island. I can tell you this is a country that should be talk about and visited more as we found the Island to be beautiful with a large variety to do that will take you through thousands of years of history. The island has Neolithic sites, a long Viking history, medieval castles, special steam trains and electric railroads and so much more. The people of the Isle of Man also make this country a special place. The people…

How We Travel Like We Do

I get asked from time to time questions like “How are you able to travel like you do?”, “How can you have a job and travel like that?” and “How can you afford it?”. While there are different circumstances in everyone’s life and some that you just can’t control that would hinder the ability to travel but in many cases you can do things that allow you to travel a little more. I’ll explain some of what I have that gives us the time to travel and some tips that could help you travel as well. Things Specific to Our Situation There are a few things that allow us to…

    Aruba

In September of 2022 we visited the nation of Aruba for the very first time on a very quick trip (just a weekend). In that short amount of time we learned a lot about this very diverse Island Nation that is so close to South America you can see Venezuela from the Southern part of the island. It was a great trip and I’ll share what we found about this very interesting country. About Aruba Aruba is one of the four countries that make up the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its kind of like Scotland or England within the United Kingdom. They have their own currency (The Aruban Florin) and…

    Thunderstorms and Staffing

Donna and I recently took a quick trip to Richmond, Virginia. If you have never been there it is a wonderful place full of history. You can visit Jamestown, Yorktown (last major battle of the American Revolution), many Civil war Battlefields and museums. On this trip we changed planes in Atlanta each way as there are no direct flights. On our trip back we ran into a semi-wild situation that we had never ran into ever before. Its another example of some of the situations you might run into in today’s somewhat broken world. Our afternoon flight from Richmond to Atlanta actually left early an all went very well on…
