May Travel Newsletter and ET Family Travel Deals

It’s already May, and summer is coming quickly. We have done a variety of traveling so far this year to Mexico, Guatemala, The Bahamas, Panama, Belize and Scotland. We aren’t done with our travel this year so stayed tuned for more guides as we keep trying to learn more about our world and doing research to help others. Donna and I recently attended a Webinar around helping clients with Celiac when they travel as we work to learn more about our clients, needs to make sure they have great and safe trips.

There is still a lot of change going on in the world right now with new security alerts for many countries including the United States that have gone out. There are also some new ID and pre-travel processes that are in place or about to be in the United States and abroad. Travel is still just as rewarding though as it’s ever been, but you definitely need to do your research or rely on an experienced Travel Agent.

United Kingdom ETA

When we visited Scotland, we applied for the United Kingdom Electronic Travel Authorization (UK ETA). We got the UK ETA app on our phone and followed the pretty easy instructions. We needed to take a picture of our passport picture page and scan the passport chip with our phone (back cover). We needed to take a passport style picture and answer some basic questions. It cost around 16 pounds (around $21) and is good for two years for unlimited visits. A few hours later we got our approval and had no trouble entering the UK.

Real ID in the US

As of May 7th, 2025, in the US you will need a Real ID to fly domestically. For a driver’s license or State ID card you will need the ‘yellow star’ on it that denotes a real id. If you do not have that you can use a passport as well. Click below for more details:

Travel by Food

One way to travel while at home is by trying different restaurants and food from different countries. It’s a way to learn and get a short escape from the daily grind. Here are a couple of new locations in the Houston, Texas area to check out. You can find your own cultural escape in your city as well!

Remember to book with us at ET Family Travel for your next adventure. You will unlock our experience and knowledge, and you will be helping a Small Business grow all while not costing you ANYTHING! In these busy times let us help and let you truly enjoy your travel adventures!
